Topband was registered as a private company in 1996 by Wu Yongqiang in the Shenzen Industrial Park, also known as "China's Silicon Valley". The company's first success was a controller for an air conditioner in Taishan, which started a long string of inventions that have made Topband one of the leading manufacturers of smart technology. Following the concept of "agility, innovation, partnership", the R&D team has come to create components for four major industries (home appliances, power tools, lithium batteries and industrial control) and master four core technologies: electrical control technology, motor technology, battery technology and IOT platform. A milestone is the listing on the SZSE (stock exchange code:002139) in 2007.

Going through a steady rise, the company has been moving towards opening factories all over the world. The first ones opened outside China are in Vietnam and India, with expansion continuing outside Asia to America (Mexico) and Europe (Romania).

The factory in Remetea Mare(Timis County) opened in 2021, a key step in the strategy to be closer to customers and to adapt creatively and quickly to their needs. It will focus on the production and manufacture of controllers for home appliances and BMS. At the moment, Topband Romania is in the first phase of development, but in the future it promises the creation of more than a thousand jobs and an annual production capacity of up to nine million parts.
