Starting in July 2026, smart tachographs will become mandatory for international transport using vehicles in the 2.5–3.5t range, potentially impacting costs and transit times.

At the same time, data analyzed by Trans.eu in collaboration with partners at the European Road Transport Institute (EITD) reveals fluctuating trends for the second half of 2025: consecutive months of growth, high activity in November–December, and a sharp decline in September–October.
